Fandom Monthly Magazine presents....

December 2013 (Issue 4)

It's the month of Christmas! Fandom Monthly wishes you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New year! We hope you have a  splendid holiday season!

Article 1:

New character stills/pictures have been found on the Divergent movie website! They truly are amazing! These character pictures were somehow leaked way before they were  released. Check them out below!

Character Portraits:
Four / Tobias
Mrs. Prior
Mr. Prior

Also, a new Divergent clip, pictures and stills were released!

The Divergent clip was so amazing! In the clip, Four showed Tris his faction tattoos! Also at the end of the clip, Four and Tris kissed! So many things in a minute and a half! Fandom Monthly can't wait to see Divergent once it is in theaters!

Exciting news! A Facebook page for Divergent uploaded a scene FROM THE DIVERGENT movie! Unfortunately, the Facebook page deleted the scene soon after it was uploaded. An Instagram account (@peetaclaus) still had the video open right after it was deleted. @peetaclaus recorded the scene so that way we all could see it! Thank you @peetacluas! The scene is the conversation that Four (Theo James) and Tris (Shailene Woodley) after the "knife throwing" during Dauntless training. We hope you enjoy this clip! Sorry for the bad quality! Tell us what you think about the clip in the comments! Note: WE DID NOT RECORD THIS! OUR WATERMARK IS ONLY THERE BECAUSE WE UPLOADED THIS TO OUR ONLINE MAGAZINE!

This month has been a VERY exciting month for us fellow shadowhunters. If you haven't
heard the latest news check out the article below…

It’s not official but, it’s a peak of hope for our fandom. Could you imagine seeing Will, Tessa, Jem and all the other characters on your television screen at home? It could be absolutely amazing but, others are worried about the idea failing.  “What if they change the plot?” What if they mess it up? What if… What if.” All those things that could happen. We must remember to stay positive and hope for the best in our fandom.

In other news of the shadowhunter fandom, Cassandra Clare has released a new snippet from City Of Heavenly Fire. Check it out below.

The Frays had never been a religiously observant family, but Clary loved Fifth Avenue at Christmas time. The air smelled like sweet roasted chestnuts, and the window displays sparkled with silver and blue, green and red. This year there were fat round crystal snowflakes attached to each lamppost, sending back the winter sunlight in shafts of gold. Not to mention the huge tree at Rockefeller Center. It threw its shadow across them as she and Simon draped themselves over the gate at the side of the skating rink, watching tourists fall down as they tried to navigate the ice.
Clary had a hot chocolate wrapped in her hands, the warmth spreading through her body. She felt almost normal—this, coming to Fifth to see the window displays and the tree, had been a winter tradition for her and Simon for as long as she could remember.
“Feels like old times, doesn’t it?” he said, echoing her thoughts as he propped his chin on his folded arms.
She chanced a sideways look at him. He was wearing a black topcoat and scarf that emphasized the winter pallor of his skin. His eyes were shadowed, indicating that he hadn’t fed on blood recently. He looked like what he was—a hungry, tired vampire.
Well, she thought. Almost like old times. “More people to buy presents for,” she said. “Plus, the always traumatic what-to-buy-someone-for-the-first-Christmas-after-you’ve-started-dating question.”
“What to get the Shadowhunter who has everything,” Simon said with a grin.
“Jace mostly likes weapons,” Clary sighed. “He likes books, but they have a huge library at the Institute. He likes classical music …” She brightened. Simon was a musician; even though his band was terrible, and was always changing their name—currently they were Lethal SoufflĂ©—he did have training. “What would you give someone who likes to play the piano?”
“A piano.”
“A really huge metronome that could also double as a weapon?”
Clary sighed, exasperated.
“Sheet music. Rachmaninoff is tough stuff, but he likes a challenge.”
“Now you’re talking. I’m going to see if there’s a music store around here.” Clary, done with her hot chocolate, tossed the cup into a nearby trash can and pulled her phone out. “What about you? What are you giving Isabelle?”
“I have absolutely no idea,” Simon said. They had started heading toward the avenue, where a steady stream of pedestrians gawking at the windows clogged the streets.
“Oh, come on. Isabelle’s easy.”
“That’s my girlfriend you’re talking about.” Simon’s brows drew together. “I think. I’m not sure. We haven’t discussed it. The relationship, I mean.”
“You really have to DTR, Simon.”
“Define the relationship. What it is, where it’s going. Are you boyfriend and girlfriend, just having fun, ‘it’s complicated,’ or what? When’s she going to tell her parents? Are you allowed to see other people?”
Simon blanched. “What? Seriously?”
“Seriously. In the meantime—perfume!” Clary grabbed Simon by the back of his coat and hauled him into a cosmetics store that had once been a bank. It was massive on the inside, with rows of gleaming bottles everywhere. “And something unusual,” she said, heading for the fragrance area. “Isabelle isn't going to want to smell like everyone else. She’s going to want to smell like figs, or vetiver, or—”
“Figs? Figs have a smell?” Simon looked horrified; Clary was about to laugh at him when her phone buzzed. It was her mother.
where are you? It’s an emergency.

While we are still on the topic of City of Heavenly Fire, unfortunately the release date of the book has been pushed back to a planned May 27 release day in 2014. The initial release date was in March 2014. The teaser cover did say May 2014, but the release date has not been confirmed until now. This release day change does upset many in the Mortal Instruments fandom (nicknamed as "TMI"). What do you think about this release day change? Tell us in the comments! (scroll down to bottom of page to comment)

Well that’s it for now fellow shadowhunters! Tune in for more information next month! Tell us what you think about the new CoHF snippet, the newly confirmed CoHF release date, and what you think about TID being made into a T.V show in the comment section below!

Catching Fire Movie Review (By Samantha):

Our girl is still on fire!

If you thought last year's The Hunger Games was amazing, than this years Catching Fire was PHENOMENAL. Many knew Catching Fire was going to be a huge success. Samantha says "It brought tears to my eyes, as I watched my fictional friends pop out of the pages of the book onto the big screen. It was like I was breathing the words
from the pages all over again, from the elevator scene with Johanna to the heartbreaking words of "Katniss there is no District 12." The movie left me speechless even though I already knew everything that was going to happen. On a scale of 1-10 I would give it a 10. Not because I'm madly in love with the books but because all the cast and crew brought the book to life. I could not imagine it any other way. None of the
actors or actresses let me down, they played there part exactly right. It was unbelievable. If you haven't went and viewed.

All the characters were spot on from the sexy Finnick Odair to the insane but smart Wiress.
If you haven't seen Catching Fire yet, you still have a chance to catch it in theaters! Hurry before its too late!
And if you loved the movie, you can buy the DVD which comes out March 7,2014(estimated date).

Come on you guys lets get our fandom on top!

Woodley told Entertainment Weekly “I had a really strong response to it. It’s definitely — it’s not a tagline that I probably would have chosen by any means,” she said. What do you think about it?
